PentlandAsia is the Asia based sourcing subsidiary of Pentland Group and manages product development, production in 3rd party factories, quality control and logistics in apparel and footwear. Pentland Group is the owner of a number of international sports, outdoor and fashion brands, including: Speedo, Ellesse, Kickers*, Berghaus and Red or Dead and the licence holder for other brands including a world-wide licence for Lacoste footwear and Ted Baker footwear.
Footwear Merchandise Manager (Lacoste - Indonesia )
Accountabilities:
- Manage Lacoste’s development, commercialization and production activities in assigned factories; searching for suitable alternative sources; maintaining knowledge of available vendors etc in region.
- Develop and effectively manage the brands merchandising team in assigned factories/countries to support the Lacoste business needs.
- Effectively manage and review factory performance in assigned factories to targets set by Brand Sourcing Manager and Supply Chain Director.
- Manage the Brands product development process, critical path and sample requirements and offer appropriate feed back when necessary.
- Review and coordinate the negotiation of product costings between brand and factory based on target prices from Brand.
- Identify potential production problems through commercialisation processes and co-ordinate both with customers and factories in order to determine which course of action is warranted.
- Oversee and manage production delivery with both factories and customers; negotiate and manage capacity booking and minimum order issues.
- Maintain effective and professional working relationships with the brand team, Pentland Asia and the factories.
- Oversee and control product quality; manage transition towards Quality Assurance process.
- Responsible for business standards activities within nominated countries.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience of Asian footwear manufacturers.
- Understanding of brand business and sourcing strategies
- Understanding of branded product development.
- General operational management experience.
- People management/development skills.
- Technical knowledge and experience of footwear production.
Footwear Developer (Lacoste - Indonesia)
Accountabilities:
- Ensure all samples are executed as per the Brand’s requirements and specifications as well as making sure that they leave on time.
- Help factories to develop products from design brief into finished samples
- Give input into the factories how our shoes should be made
- Be responsible for managing commercialization and pre-production process
- Communicate with designer for details, construction, materials, and make sure everything is clear for factory to make samples.
- New materials sourcing, and keep manager informed the situation.
- Check and confirm all income materials color and quality before photo, meeting, or s/s making, any discrepancy needs to inform manager and designer for solution.
- During sampling stage, need to require factory to test all of the materials, to make sure the quality is reach brand standard.
- All of the samples (photo, meeting, confirmation, sales samples) inspection, to make sure the details and quality are right before send out.
- Samples materials order’s delivery tracking, to make sure the date is meet sample requirement daily, any discrepancy needs report to manger for solution.
- After s/s samples, needs to sign off confirmation sample for factories and UK, no discrepancy to accept for confirmation samples.
- Sign off production color swatch for production follow up.
- Ensure that the samples meet the target prices and communicate options to improve margins.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years’ development experience and experience working with suppliers and factories
- Have an understanding of injection moulding and plastics
- Can work on own initiative but also as part of the team
- Good spoken / written English.
- Experience of causal or formal shoes is desirable
Footwear QA (Lacoste - Indonesia)
Accountabilities:
- To perform factory evaluation, factory corrective action follow, if necessary the QA also need to carry out inspection audits for in-process and finished goods to maintain the quality according to customers requirements.
- Carry out Factory Evaluation and Factory review and report writing.
- Assist both PA & Brand QC/QA manager to help vender/supplier to set up the corrective action.
- Follow up corrective action that is set by factory, QC/QA Manager of PA or brand and update the BSM on progress made.
- Monitor the production system of the factory to prevent the potential production problem. Confirm that the correct processes are being followed.
- Set up pre-production meeting with factory to prevent problems from bulk production. He / She may request to check patterns. Work with the development team to identify any concerns that may affect quality in production.
- Collect and organise the technical documents and samples for inspection.
- Help for bulk samples checking.
- Conduct in-line and final inspection according to sampling plan and AQL standards, wotking with the factory inspectors to ensure the quality standards are being met.
- Complete in-line and final inspection reports according to required format and communicate with Thailand operations team.
- Report any problems and discrepancies of inspection findings immediately to merchandising manager and the BSM and follow up on the decision.
- Inform Thailand and PCL office immediately when an inspection was failed or with other major discrepancies, any delay in the customer getting the goods must be communicated back to them. If the order will be remade we should confirm with the factory how soon this can happen.
- Monitor the factory production schedule to ensure our deliveries will meet the customer requested dates.
- Work with the development team to ensure products are commercialized correctly for the production.
Requirements
- At least 3-5 years’ solid experience as a QA/QC in footwear industry (International Brand is highly preferred)
- Knowledge of footwear testing and standards.
- Experienced in leather footwear production
- Self-disciplined with good organisation skills
- Fully conversant with process control, QA/ QC final inspection procedures
- Able to communicate in English.
- Solid shoemaking background
- Sole bond preparation and bonding procedures
