TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
POSITION SUMMARY
Accountable for the overall Garment Development (Pre-Production) process for the responsible Brands / Divisions. Supports product development and production in a team based environment.
Performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including product development, garment engineering, esthetics and quality.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND / OR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Divisional Strategy:
- Introduce & execute technical standards within the Brands / Divisions
- Work with vendors to ensure proper execution of brand aesthetic, fit, construction and quality standards of the garments.
- Develop and train vendor staff to meet current and future divisional product development needs
Vendor Management:
- Train & monitor vendor staff on technical and divisional standards
- Work with vendors on brand aesthetic execution and proper fitting techniques
- Identify & communicate any potential vendor issues and assist in developing resolutions
Product Development
- Work closely with Design to understand brand aesthetic in order to properly guide Technicians and vendors during product development.
- Ensure end product is developed to meet technical and Divisional quality and costing expectations and overseeing a seamless relationship with the quality team.
- Train vendors & Technicians on new product development methods and to provide alternative techniques to Design & Manufacturing ensuring cost effective product development
- Work with vendors on-site
Team Development:
- Provide training to TE Assistant, Technicians and suppliers
- Encourage independent decision making
- Conduct continuous process analysis
Ongoing collaboration:
- To understand brand and technical needs
- Technical teams and vendors to ensure product development requirements are being disseminated and executed effectively
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 years experience in global product development and manufacturing.
- Experience in garment construction, key manufacturing operations and cost effective garment development. Extensive fabric & yarn knowledge
- Experience training and developing new vendors.
- Strong project management skills and adaptable in a fast-paced changing environment
- Good interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- Fluent English
PRODUCTION SPECIALIST
POSITION SUMMARY
Execute source order requests as well as production monitoring to deliver irresistible product on time in the most cost efficient manner (with the best delivery date, minimize the liability and upcharge for the reduction and chase)
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND/OR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Issuing the source order and checking the accuracy of source order
Product Flow Follow up:
- Monitor production from the start of manufacturing to distribution center receipt
- Partnered with US team on product flow and ship mode against Merchandise Due Date/ deferral and pull up
- Analyze garment delivery delays and negotiate ship mode against the escalation policy
Systems Maintenance:
- Source order update
- Intransit
- WIP (Work In Process) / PTR (Production Tracking Report) clean up
- Create LC request
- Monitoring system alert
Additional Responsibilities:
- Gather and record excess piece goods information post supply and demand or after any reduction
- Execute excess piece goods disposal
- Resolve overage or shortage issues against escalation policy
- Maintain garment delivery and updating the history in HIS remark in SEWN
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 - 4 years manufacturing experiences
- Able to communicate efficiently
- Detailed oriented
- Take initiative to raise questions and ask for parties concerned
- Fluent in English and local language (Asia)
