Receptionist
Summary of Job:
This position is responsible for the professional and efficient managing of visitors, clients, telephone calls and messages, as well as a variety of clerical duties that support consumer services, information and referral and the operation and presentation of a professional office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensures knowledge of staff whereabouts and maintains accurate and complete sign-in/sign-out procedures for on-site staff and consumers.
  • Promptly, accurately, professionally and courteously receives 100% of all telephone calls and visitors.
  • Promptly, accurately, professionally and courteously assesses 100% of received calls/inquiries and directs and/or records and relays messages.
  • Adept at using all features of the telephone system and voice mail.
  • Maintains knowledge of current postal regulations and services frequently used by the organization
  • As needed, assists with clerical tasks to include typing, filing, proofreading, and maintenance of service logs and data entry.
  • Assist in other duties as needed and directed.
  • Assist in travel arrangements.
  • Assist in Driver management.

Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin is a PLUS.

Education and Experience:
Diploma or general education degree (GED) or graduate form secretarial school; with minimum of one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of:  Internet Explorer; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft Word.

IT Professional
Summary of Job:

  • Will be needed to report to IT Manager
  • Develop, install, maintain, and modify engineering applications, business applications, or integrated applications. Identify and analyze user requirements and recommend appropriate applications or modifications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Investigate user problems and needs, identify their source, and determine possible solutions.
  • Analyze user project proposals to include identifying potential problem areas and recommend optimum approaches for project path.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, installation, and testing of applications software.
  • Contribute through code/algorithm development and other means, for the development of tools and interfaces between application programs and for the development of debugging programs.
  • Provide system level support for computer software and classroom computer equipment used to conduct workshops.
  • Investigate, recommend and install new applications.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
  • Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support at trade shows, conferences, and similar events.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members.
  • Provide computer orientation to new company staff.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of company supported applications and systems. Ability to evaluate and interpret end user information requirements, and to develop appropriate systems and/or applications solutions. Knowledge of computer/computational science, data analysis, and programming technologies, concepts, and techniques. Ability to develop, implements, installs, test, and troubleshoot complex applications software. Ability to record, track, corresponds, and document resolution of user problems by means of problem reporting database software. Ability to develop technical documentation for training, software/hardware use, user procedures, and as-required project deliverables. Ability to learn and support new applications and systems. Work with users requires interpersonal skills. This is normally acquired through a combination of a Bachelor’s Degree and three to five years of programming experience.
  • Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.

GIS Specialist
Summary of Job

  • GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS) SPECIALISTS work with related software (ArcView, AutoCAD, GIS, GPS relational databases) to create and maintain geological coal structure data and/or maps and combine this with geographically referenced data.
  • GIS software has the capacity to relate different types of data such as socioeconomic, demographic, administrative or political boundaries, land use, land cover, environmental, infrastructure, and transportation networks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create maps and graphs, using GIS software and related equipment.
  • Meet with users to define data needs, project requirements, required outputs, or to develop applications.
  • Conduct Research to locate and obtain existing databases.
  • Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data from staff and determine how best the information can be displayed using GIS.
  • Develops, maintains and updates GIS databases; receives and reviews maps, land parcel records and engineering documents; identifies pertinent GIS information; converts data into proper GIS formats; digitizes data; ensues accuracy and completeness; enters data into databases; and updates essential GIS layers and databases.
  • Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
  • Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.
  • Design and update database, applying additional knowledge of spatial feature representations.
  • Enter new map data through use of a digitizer or by direct input of coordinate information using the principles of cartography including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales.
  • Analyze geographic relationships among varying types of data.
  • Prepare metadata and other documentation.
  • Operate and maintain GIS system hardware, software, plotter, digitizer, color printer, and video camera.
  • Move, copy, delete, and add files, drawings, and maps to output reports in hard copy or electronic transfer.
  • Present information to users and answer questions.
  • Retrieve stored maps.

Required Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of coordinate geometry, geography terms, vector maps and the utilization and capabilities of Geographical Information and Global Positioning Systems.
  • Skills in research, data entry, photo and/or document scanning, and data layer construction.
  • Skills in operating office equipment, relational databases, personal computers and related software.
  • Ability to install software drivers, and other computer equipment, as well as to resolve computer problems.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in geography, surveying, computer science, urban planning or related field.
  • Candidate should have experience with ArcView, ArcINFO, AutoCAD, GIS, GPS relational databases and ESRI products. Understanding of Minescape and Surpac software is a PLUS.
  • One or more years working with a Geographic Information System or in a related field, with increasing responsibilities.
