Sampoerna Agro is one of Indonesia’s prominent palm oil producers with plantations in Sumatra and Kalimantan islands of Indonesia. The company’s main businesses are in oil palm plantation, production of crude palm oil (CPO), palm kernel (PK) and germinated oil palm seeds. At present, the company owns and manages more than 77,000 hectares of oil palm plantation and has access to approximately 92,000 hectares of land bank in Indonesia to accommodate the company’s future growth. The company operates five Palm Oil Mills with a total processing capacity of 350 tonnes of FFB per hour. One of the company’s subsidiaries, PT Binasawit Makmur (BSM), is one of only seven government-approved oil palm seed producers in Indonesia. BSM has released 6 approved varieties of high quality planting material, DxP Sriwijaya 1 to 6, which have been widely used by major oil palm plantation companies in Indonesia since 2004.
