PT Asrigita Prasarana was restructured on April 29, 2003 with the investment from China and local partners and the open cycle of Palembang Project was ceremonial by President of Republic Indonesia Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on November 09th, 2004. Palembang GFCC Power Plant Project of PT Asrigita Prasarana is one of the largest Chinese overseas invested projects in type of BOOT. China National Chemical Engineering Corporation (CNCEC), Chengda Engineering Corporation of China (CHENGDA), and PT Sumbergas Sakti Prima (SSP) are the share-holders of this company. As an Independent Power Producer, PT Asrigita Prasarana aims to develop various IPP projects within Indonesia, and the east Palembang Project is focused to supply electric power for Sumatera Island. The Plant has been in successful and continuous power generation since September 2nd, 2004, same day as the opening ceremony of Indonesian National Sports Game (PON) occurred, and since then it had supplied electric power more than 2.222.178.200 kWh to PLN’s grid since September 2004 until end of September 2006.
